I am at home because I decided that if I was going to die in the next few weeks, I didn't want it to be in a hospital. I've been home for 5 weeks now and the doctor said I had one month when I last went to the doctor. I am kinda getting scared. I mean, will this hurt. I need to stay strong, but man, my whole body hurts, but especially my heart. I guess that's what cancer does to you.

I wonder if I will just die in my sleep or if it will be different. I am not sure what Augustus was feeling in his last moments, but I think it something like I am feeling.

Pain

Now I could die at any minute or second.

My mom comes over to me and says, "Hi Hazel. Are you scared?" I think for a moment before answering. "Yah mom, I am. I don't want to leave you, but it is not my choice anymore." I reply. I see tears dripping from her eyes. "I know. Does it hurt honey?" she says trying to keep from crying. I feel a pain in my chest. "Yes mom. Actually, it hurts a lot." I answer truthfully. My mom gives me a hug and says, "It is time for bed." Normally, I would argue about treating me childish, but not tonight. I go into my room and crawl into bed since I have been in my pjs all day. "I am going to sleep with you tonight." My mom says. I start to drift off to sleep.

I am not sure if it is a dream or not, but I am walking up white stairs surrounded by clouds. Once I reach the top of the stairs, someone is standing there. "Hazel Grace, what a pleasure." I look up to see..

Augustus Waters

I embrace him and kiss him firmly. I feel no more pain whatsoever. "Am I dreaming?" I ask. "No Hazel Grace, this is real. Welcome to Heaven." He responds. I look around to see hundreds maybe thousands of people everywhere.

A little girl comes up to me. Hello, my name is Prim. You must be Hazel. Let me introduce you to some of my friends." She takes my hand and leads me to a group of people. "This is Tris." Prim says. I look towards a young girl no older than me. "Hello Tris. My name is Hazel." I smile as I introduce myself. "Pleasure to meet you Hazel. Augustus has told us a lot about you." Tris says while smiling. I look towards Augustus to see him smiling and blushing. Next, Prim introduces me to Chuck. I shake his hand and say hello. He is so young, younger than me. Prim also introduces me to Will, Tris's friend, and Teresa, Chuck's friend. Everybody seems so nice here. I think I will love it here with my new friends, but mostly, I am finally with my love Augustus.
