Authors notes: This is just a short little something that I wrote a
few years back I decided to post it for the heck of it. R&R if you
feel like it. This is from Usagi's POV.
Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon *Cries*. There, I said it, now on with
the story.
Dream Images:
Ghosts of shadows. Fleeting images, faint, distant memories
that flee with the first rays of the sun.
My tired eyes snap open and before I even know it, I am dressed.
When I am late, my speed amazes even me.
My mother stops me as I am about to leave, reminding me to take
my lunch. I thank her, though I really wouldn't have forgotten it. I
take the familiar pink bag from its place on the counter and scurry out
the door.
Through the day, I ponder my dreams, going through school in a
daze. After class, I meet with Naru-chan.
Naru. My friend, my confident, nearly my sister. She is yelling
at Umino. He, as usual, has gotten a high score on todays test, while
I have gotten a mere thirty. As I leave them, I curse myself inside.
I am too ashamed to show the test to my mother, so I crumple it up,
and toss it behind me.
"That hurt, Odango Atama. Do you want me to have bumps like
yours on my head too?" I whirl to face him, my dreams of the night before
rushing back to greet me as his eyes, as blue as the depths of the ocean
meet mine.
I yell at him, trying to cover the instant blush that has come
to my cheeks.
"A thirty? Study hard, Odango Atama." I lunge forward, tearing
my test from his hands. I think to myself about how strange he had been,
as I walk away. But why had I felt so strangely when I looked into the
depths of his eyes?
It couldn't have been anything, I asuure my self. After all,
it had only been a ghost of a dream. A fleeting image, a distant
familiar memory, that had fled in the light of the morning...

So, how'd ya' like my little fluff ball?
