Antonio Fernández-Carriedo sat calmly in his office, completing paperwork. He was working on a rather hard case. Despite his, erhm, client's talent with blackmail and death threats, Antonio had been unable to get the man out of a 20 year jail sentence. Working as a criminal defense attorney brought in good money, but also tons of work. As he finished his work he heard a knock on the door, "Enter." He commanded.

"Mr. Carriedo," spoke the visitor, who Antonio recognized as the sheriff, Alfred F. Jones. "Regretfully I must inform you of your sister's death."

"Which one," Antonio questioned, his voice shaking.

"Maria."

Antonio dropped the pen he was holding. Resting his head on his hands he breathed in deeply and asked, "How?" Alfred sighed, running a hand through his golden hair. He wasn't supposed to give out any details, but for Toni,

"From security tapes we know she was shot by someone in a Dora the Explorer costume. There was also a note at the scene saying Maria had stolen the killer's green card."

Antonio looked up slowly, his expression puzzled. "What Toni?"

"Maria was an American citizen. She lived here all her life. She had no need for a green card." Alfred's eyes narrowed, "Toni would anyone want your sister dead?"

"No everyone loved Maria. She was a sweet girl."

"And she had nothing going on," Alfred paused wondering how to put the question delicately, "No drugs or boyfriends of sorts…."

"Maria would never do drugs and if you suggest that any of my sisters are prostitutes again, I'll kill you."

Alfred barely blinked, "I know you're distressed Carriedo, but I'll remind you to never threaten a city sheriff."

Antonio blinked. Alfred never threw around his authority, being as laid back as he was. "Yes of course, I was out of line."

That seemed to placate Alfred, as he smiled cheerfully, "Don't worry about it buddy! Any ways your sister may not have had any enemies, but you do. I'd suggest getting a guard." The excitable American paused his rambling as the weight of his statement dawned on him.

"Antonio, send me a list of every person you've ever pissed off and every case you've ever lost, particularly the high profile ones, mob bosses and the like; and seriously get a bodyguard."

The transformation, Antonio thought, was amazing. Alfred, despite his percieved stupidity, was extremely astute and had really earned his position. Antonio would have to take his advice. Employing a bodyguard would be costly, but apparently worth the cost, since it seemed that Alfred suspected the target was Antonio himself.
