You are my rock
Song fic to Delta Goodrem's wonderful thank you song – You are my rock. A Troyella. Disclaimer I don't own anything. If it's not obvious this is from Gabriella's point of view. Set at Troy's funeral. In italics the congregation sings, in normal Gabriella says.
'I can't do this Troy, not with all these people staring
Look at me, right at me, like the first time we sang together, like kindergarten.'
That was the first time I realised how much I loved Troy and how much I needed him in my life. He changed my life and made me the person I am today. This one is for you Troy.
You gave me confidence,
You gave me face,
No one can buy, true love in their life.
We all need someone on standby.
The night drew long, you kept me strong.
Now I can thank you in this song.
You gave me the life I should lead,
You gave me the life I need,
You are my rock, you touched my soul.
You brought me light, when all hope was gone.
You showed me secrets, that I could unlock.
You are my brother, you are my rock.
You gave me a friendly ear,
You gave me a life without fear,
I've seen people come and go young and old from all walks of life.
They all leave a bookmark in the story that I write.
Only when your luck's run out you find out who really counts.
You gave me your kind words,
You are my rock, you touched my soul.
You brought me light, when I couldn't go on.
You showed me the secrets, that I could unlock.
You are my brother, you are my rock.
You gave me what I needed,
To get my life back on track,
No one can buy new love in their life.
We all need someone until we die.
You gave me my soul back,
And that's a fact.
You are my rock Troy, I'm lost without you.
I am eternally grateful for your presence in my life.
You taught me to live every minute to the max and that's what I intend to do.
A silent tear rolled down Gabriella's cheek, she had finally told Troy how she really felt about him, she was happy but she couldn't help feeling she should of told when he could reply. There was not a dry eye in the house, Troy had touched everyone, it would be hard to live with the fact that she wouldn't see him everyday, but at least now he knew the truth.
