Nate placed his pen down on his desk. He wrote the song for Caitlyn, she was an underdog.
The cabin door slammed. Nate turned his head and looked at Caitlyn.
"Sorry" Caitlyn said.
"It's fine" Nate smiled.
Caitlyn looked over to the desk and saw a paper with Nate's handwriting on it.
"Hey what's this" Caitlyn asked picking up the paper off Nate's desk.
"Caitlyn no" Nate screamed trying to stop her.
Caitlyn read the words on the paper. A lot of it sounded like her. She wished the song was about her. She was secretly in love with her best friend.
"Hey Nate" Caitlyn asked
"Yeah"
"Who's this song about?"
"Uh, n-no one"
"Is it about me?"
"Psh n-no w-w-why would m-my s-song b-be a-a-bout y-y-y-you" Nate stuttered knowing he was caught.
"You're a liar you stutter when you lie"
"Fine the song was about you, I got caught" Nate said
"Do I really mean the world to you" Caitlyn asked
"More than you know' Nate said looking into Caitlyn's eyes. Something in his head clicked. He was in love with his best friend.
"Um Caitlyn I don't know how to say this so I'm just going to come out with it" Nate said while Caitlyn remained silent.
"Caitlyn I'm in love with you"
Caitlyn remained silent. She was never told by a boy that he loved her. Of course she loved him back but she was speechless.
"Okay I get it your not in love with me" Nate said getting up out of his chair and heading for the door.
"Nate wait" Caitlyn paused "I love you too." She smiled.
Nate ran over to her and kissed her. "You're my underdog and you do mean the world to me" Caitlyn smiled and closed the space between them.
