Author's note: So, I was watching Paternity again. I loved the raw emotion Elliot and Kathy showed- tears, fears, leers...
And then I saw a fic on . You see, the reason Elliot and Kathy were crying with each other was because it was just a one night stand, and he actually loves Olivia, not the woman who just had his child!
It disgusted me. Thus, I am writing a Post-Paternity fluff ficlet. Hope all you E/K shippers like it!
Elliot sighed as he walked into the hospital room that housed his wife. He had just checked on his newborn son, and was finally reassured to some degree that he would be ok.
He was so happy to have both of them there, perfectly healthy. Especially considering how close they had come to not being here at all. He felt terrible about it. His wife and son had each almost died while he had been chasing some guy. He should have been there!
But he shook the thought out of his head as Kathy woke up, blinking sleep from her eyes and smiling at him.
"Hey babe." Elliot said quietly. He sat down next to her and stroked her hair gently.
"How's Eli?" Kathy asked. Elliot smiled. His wife was the most nurturing woman on the planet, always thinking about others.
"He's ok. He's absolutely beautiful." Elliot stated. His voice had an even bigger smile than his face.
"Just like his dad, then." Kathy noted. Elliot's face reddened slightly- not a blush, but close.
"I'm just glad you're both ok." Elliot said. He hugged her gently.
"It was a close call." Kathy agreed. Her voice had a slight hint of fear.
"It'll be ok." Elliot assured her. He wished he could do more. She had just given birth to their child; he felt he should be able to do something small- helping her fears, at least. He kissed her softly, but passionately.
"I love you." Kathy said happily as she pulled away. Elliot smiled and leaned down to kiss her again.
"I love you too." He replied.
Hours later, after Kathy had eaten and fallen asleep, and Elliot had returned home, Elliot sat in the living room, smiling at Kathleen, Dickie, and Lizzie and showing them pictures of Elliot Stabler, Jr.
"Awww." They sighed.
"Can't wait till Maureen visits us." Elliot noted. He smiled broadly, exhilarated from the day's events.
Elliot hugged each of his younger kids in turn, feeling more content than he had in a long time.
