Songs do wonders. Inspiration hit me instantly when I put shuffle on my I-pod.

Song: Universe and U and Under The Weather by KT Tunstall.

During: A thunder storm by the beach. Beautiful.

Enjoy.

She was waiting. Her feet were planted firmly on the deck of their apartment, her hands on the cold metal of the railing. She shivered while the rain poured endlessly on her back.

She was drenched from head to toe. Her rosy hair clung to her neck and face, droplets of cold water slid down her face, onto her lips, and then slowly slipped off. Then each droplet fell to the ground, joining the infinite amount of rain drops at the bottom. They created a small pool by her feet, slowly growing in size as time passed.

Her eyes were closed, shielding her jade orbs from the harsh rain above her. She lifted her head to the sky, letting the water shower her face. It felt good, relaxing. But it was nothing to help her eagerness to see him.

Three months. Three months he's been gone. Three months of a cold side of the bed. Three months of making dinner for yourself. Three months of no kisses, hugs, and love.

Three months of agony.

And she couldn't take it anymore.

She squeezed the railing of their apartment's deck and opened her eyes. He was due back today. The mist and fog was immense, as she could see very little in front of her. A lightning strike came down a few yards in front of their apartment, and after a few seconds she heard a low grumble of thunder.

Sasuke always liked storms.

She missed him so much. It was as if a little piece of her heart was being torn out of her each day. She wanted him back. She needed him back.

She was silently angry at Tsunade for making him go on such a long mission. And she was slightly angry at Sasuke for accepting it. Didn't he know she was at a time when she needed him the most? Her mother had recently perished, and she was in the worst state of her life. Sure, it had been around four months now, but she was still hurting. And while she was hurting, she needed a hand to hold on to.

Sasuke should know of all people. He had never went to people when his family died, but that made him the way he is. As much as she loved him, she did not want to be like he was. And he knew that.

She looked back out into the distance. She could see a dark figure approaching, but she shrugged it off. Probably just a passing villager. Their apartment was in the middle of town.

She got lost in her thoughts of what she would do once she finally saw him again. Only when the villager was approaching the apartment did she look back.

It was him.

How could she be so clueless? Of course it was him! The thought overwhelmed her. He was there, standing, alive, there. He was waiting for her.

She released the railing and skid down the stairs, slipping on one of them since the rain water was coating them. She righted herself, and looked up. He stopped and they stared at each other. He wasn't bleeding at all, like he usually is when he gets back from a mission. He was fine. Beautiful.

She was the one to break down, launching herself into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and began to sob endlessly into his chest. His arms circled her waist and he squeezed her like she was going to disappear once he let go.

They didn't say a thing. They just held each other, enjoying the fact that they were together again. They were in each other's arms.

They were one.
