She was 5 when she started school. She had been so young, so innocent. She had gone up to some of the girls and introduced herself as Mildred O'Halloran. The girls had all laughed.
"What kind of name is that?" they had said.
She hadn't understood why they teased her.

She was 8 when the bullying started to get worse. Her new class all laughed when her name was called out from the roll.
"Mildred's such a stupid name!" they had said.
She hid in the bathroom during break time.

She was 13 when she started to really understand. The bullying only got worse.
"Mildred sounds like a name my great great grandmother would have," they would say.
She faked being sick so she could go home.

She was 15 when it started getting out of hand.
"If my name was Mildred, I'd kill myself!" they said.
She felt like she couldn't take it any longer.

She was 16 when she started to consider killing herself. No one did anything but tease her. What was the point of living if she couldn't enjoy it?

She was 16 when she moved schools. It was becoming too much.
She was 16 when she decided to change her name. At a new school, no one would know her as Mildred. She could start over.

She was 16 on the first day at her new school when they asked her what her name was.
"My name's Blaineley," she said.
They didn't laugh or make fun of her. She finally felt happy.

She was 20 when she started hosting Celebrity Manhunt. She worked to keep her real name a secret. It worked. No one laughed. It was the best feeling.

She was 21 when Geoff revealed her real name on the Aftermath. She had never felt more ashamed. All the work she had done to keep her name a secret – gone. Her life had been ruined by a teenager.
She had never been angrier at someone.

She was 21 when she met Owen. She had liked him more than she let on. He showed her something that little people had shown her – kindness. He had opened her eyes. He made her feel like she wasn't trash. It was a nice feeling.

She was 25 when she decided that she shouldn't be ashamed. Owen had been kind to her, even when she was rude to him. It showed her that people can like you, no matter what. It showed her that you shouldn't change yourself, no matter what other people think.
She was 25 when she started calling herself Mildred again.
