AN: This is my fourth Dana/Carter story. The first three were After the Battle, Snow Day, and New Year's kiss. Takes place in the future.

Dana Mitchell-Grayson sighed in relief as she hurried into the house just in time to avoid the rainstorm that began. She loved rain as long as she didn't have to be out in it. Now she had two whole weeks of vacation.

She loved her job as a doctor but home was truly where she was the most happiest, she had everything a woman could want, a loving husband, a beautiful home, her family, and six months ago the birth of her baby had completed their lives.

She got out of her work clothes and into some comfortable sweats and greeted her father. "Was she good?"

He smiled, "she's a perfect angel unlike her mother was."

Dana kissed her father on the cheek, "must take after Carter."

"I have to get going Ryan and I are meeting for lunch, said he has something to tell me."

Dana kissed him goodbye, "bye dad."

She briefly poked her head into Melanie's room and saw her daughter was asleep. Quietly Dana walked in and stared at her child who was the most perfect thing she'd ever seen.

She jumped as someone wrapped their arms around her from behind and immediately relaxed; these were arms she knew all to well.

Carter kissed her neck, "sorry didn't mean to scare you."

Dana turned and put her arms around him, "you're forgiven."

Carter smiled down at his daughter, "who are my two favorite ladies?"

"We're great." Quietly they walked out of the room so as not to startle their daughter and cuddled on the couch.

They had been married for nearly four years but to Dana it still seemed like a dream, and when Melanie had come along it had completed everything, something Dana had never imagined before she had met Carter.

He sighed, "Have I told you how much I love you lately?"

"I don't believe you have" she replied, in a teasing tone.

"I love you" he whispered, and Dana felt the same thrill that always went through her when they kissed.

Suddenly thunder boomed and a cry came from the nursery. Carter stood up, "I'll get her." He brought their daughter out to be with them and Dana whispered soothingly to her, until Melanie fell back asleep. Dana sighed as she settled into Carter's embrace, it was a perfect rainy afternoon, and she wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
