After Lennie kills Curley's wife, he leaves the ranch. When the ranch hands know that Curley's wife has been killed, and they notice that there is a missing gun, so they rightly guess the killer. They plan to murder Lennie. George guesses where Lennie is and races to the pool before they know where Lennie is hiding. George knows that if he doesn't kill Lennie, Curley and the ranch hands will kill both of them. So he called them that he found Lennie. Then, George and Lennie hide between the trees. George take out his gun and as soon as they arrive he kills all of them except for Curley. After that they come back to the ranch carrying with them the bodies. When they get to the ranch they take it for themselves and let Curley work for them. So their dream become true. Moreover, Lennie keep the bodies in his room so that he can enjoy its smooth skin. Also, Lennie now can play with the rabbits and the dogs as he likes.
