Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who, it Torchwood, even though I haven't seen it, because I know Jack's in it. I also don't own Martha or Jack or anything else of any concern (don't sue me, I'm innocent).

So this is a normal in the series, but I really don't like this one. My shatter convinced me to publish it but I don't think it's very great. I obviously will continue the series though and I'm sure those will be better I hope. Here it is!

Martha Jones walked along a strange street in Australia, the too-hot air blowing in her face. Just that morning, Jack had sprinted out of the hotel and told her he'd be just up the street. She'd been walking, though, and she couldn't find him.

"Excuse me," Martha said carefully to a fairly trustworthy looking woman who was standing outside of a shop. "Have you seen a kind of weird guy running along the street?"

The woman looked up curiously. "I've seen a lot of weird guys, sweetie," she said kindly. "Who is he you're looking for?"

"My-" Martha wasn't sure what to call Jack, honestly. "My-well, it doesn't matter. The point is, I can't find him."

The woman smiled sympathetically. "Guys are like that, honey," she said. "You'll find him."

Martha appreciated the reassurance, but she didn't think this woman could really understand Jack. "That's nice," Martha said, "but I kinda need to find him now."

The woman looked startled. She peered into the shop, then devoted her entire attention to Martha. "Today? Dear, you can't find love in a day!"

Martha froze for a second, then burst out laughing. "You think-oh, no, no, no! I'm looking for a REAL-I mean, I'm not speaking figurat-"

"She means, a voice interrupted. "You're kind of a nut, Ma'am."

"Jack!" Martha could help but laugh even harder. "She didn't think you were-why do you have ice cream?"

"I wanted it," Jack said impatiently. "Anyway, Ma'am, I'm so sorry."

The woman now appeared to be outraged. "Sorry about what? I didn't embarrass myself. Your girlfriend is right, you are a weird guy."

Jack raised his eyebrows at Martha. "Weird? I'm not weird! Just because I happen to be super attractive and I work for Torchwood and am immortal and like ice cream doesn't mean I'm weird! At least I don't talk to weird woman on street corners!"

Martha rolled her eyes. "That's mean, Jack, and yes you do so talk to weird woman on street corners!"

"Okay, whatever," Jack said. "Anyway, Ma'am, I'm sorry because you clearly have had a horrible love life. The point is, Martha, I found the best ice cream place just down the way!"

Martha started to answer, but the woman cut in. "You're talking about ice cream after a huge fight with your girlfriend?"

Martha giggled and Jack looked positively annoyed. "You're really getting on my nerves," he said flatly. "Couldn't you leave or something?"

The woman rolled her eyes. "So you can go get ice cream with your weird girlfriend?"

Jack grinned. "Yup. Thanks for understanding."

Martha rolled her eyes, laughing. "Let's go get some ice cream," she said.

Did you like it? I hope so! I really do, because I know you might not.

Please review! I love reviews, even if it's telling me this wasn't very good!
