I decided to rewrite this after Bitta Blues said that I could've added more detail other than lyrics and I found that he/she was right.

A small idea I had.

Strongly inspired by the movie "Prince of Egypt".

"Thus saith the Lord, thus saith the lord

Thus saith the Lord, thus saith the lord

Thus saith the Lord, thus saith the lord

Thus saith the Lord, thus saith the lord

Since you refused to free my people

(since you refused to free my people)

All through the land of Egypt

I send a pestilence and plague

into your house, into your bed

into your streams, into your streets

into your drink, into your bread

Upon your cattle, on your sheep

Upon your oxen in your field

into your dreams, into your sleep

Until you break, until you yield

I send the swarm, I send the horde

Thus saith the Lord!"

A figure wearing old robes and holding a walking stick looks upon the outskirts of the city. They remove the cloak's hood to reveal a young woman with long brown hair and buck teeth. She is saddened at what must happen to her old home but she must complete her mission from God and free her people from slavery! After countless failed attempts to convince the her adopted brother, now the pharaoh, to free the people, Luan now must watch God's power in action.

Luan: "Once I called you brother. Once I thought the chance to make you laugh, is all I ever wanted."

"I send the thunder from the sky, I send the fire raining down!"

Luan stands under cover as she watches fire rain from the sky as citizens run around in panic.

Luan: "And even now I wish that God had chose another, serving as your foe on his behalf is the last thing that I wanted!"

"I send a hail of burning ice on ev'ry field, on ev'ry town."

At a safe distance, Luan watches hail smash down on man, beast, and fields.

Luan: "This was my home!

All of this pain and devastation.

How it tortured my inside.

All the innocent who suffer from your stubbornness and pride!"

She looks up at the Pharaoh's palace in hopes that he will finally reconsider...but nothing changed.

"I send the locust on the wind, such as the world has never seen! On ev'ry leaf, on ev'ry stalk until there's nothing left if green. I send my scourge, I send my sword, Thus saith the Lord!"

Luan: "You who I called brother.

Why must you call down another blow?"

"I send my scourge, I send my sword."

Luan: "Let my people go!"

"Thus saith the Lord!"

Luan: "Thus saith the Lord!"

"Thus saith the Lord!"

Lincoln, pharaoh of egypt, looks down on his ruined kingdom. He grits his teeth as he remembers when Luan first came into his life. She was found in a small arc coursing through the nile by the former pharaoh's daughter who took her in as her own. Years later, Luan was held responsible for the death of an egyptian soldier who was beating a hebrew slave and ran off after hearing that the pharaoh wanted her dead for the crime. More years have passed since Luan ran off. She became married and had children with her husband. During this time, the king of Egypt has died and Luan was pretty much forgotten. But one day, Luan was tending to a flock belonging to her father-in-law Jethro who was the priest Midian. She took the flock to Hoeb, the mountain of God where an angel of the Lord appeared to her in a burning bush which wasn't being consumed by the flames. That's when Luan learned about her mission to free her people!

Lincoln: "You who I called sister.

How could you have come to hate me so?

Is this what you wanted?"

One day, Luan returned to Egypt where she was reunited with Lincoln. But he was confused when Luan began to tell him about the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and how the slaves are to be set free from his control. But Lincoln held onto the idea of slavery with an iron grip and refused. Luan showed Lincoln an example of God's power by witnessing her staff turning into a serpent but was soon objected by two palace sorcerers who've done the same, only for Luan's serphant to eat the other two.

"I send the swarm, I send the horde!"

Lincoln remembers how each even happened in order. Water became blood, frogs hopping everywhere, lice swarming around, flies menacing everyone, livestock dropping dead, boils appearing on people's skin, hail falling from the sky, locusts destroying crops, darkness blinding everyone for three whole days. How long will he be terrorized by the one he used to hold close to his heart?! It didn't matter for he wasn't going to give up!

Lincoln: "Then let my heart be hardened.

And never mind how high the cost may grow!

This will be so:

I will never let your people go!"

"Thus saith the Lord!"

Luan: "Thus saith the Lord!"

Lincoln: "I will not..."

Luan & Lincoln: Let your (my) people go!"

Luan watched as Lincoln angrily storms back into his palace. She sighs as she begins to walk away, preparing for the next and final plague. Luan has a strong feeling that this one will finally change Pharaoh Lincoln's mind.
