AN: This was written for a Leverageland challenge.

AN 2: To anonymous Jo, first of all I've been told Sophie's age doesn't match Gina's in real life but since that messes with my head in other areas how about this... how about we say that this Pat Bonanno is actually the father of our Pat Bonnano and if so that now makes this make perfect sense.

"Pardon me, officer?"

Officer Bonanno turned around to face a little girl whose face was wet from crying, and she was holding up a candy bar wrapper in one of her hands. "Yes, sweetheart?" He had noted her British accent from the three words she had already said.

"I, uh, stole this candy bar and I want to turn myself in for it." the girl said.

Bonanno's partner was having a hard time keeping the amusement off his face... as was Patrick himself. Clearing his throat, Pat looked back at the girl. "Sweetie, do you have the money to pay for that?"

She nodded.

"Then why'd you steal it?"

She shrugged. "I wanted to see if I could I suppose. I don't know."

"Well, you know now it doesn't feel right, right?"

She nodded again. "It also did not taste right, and I've got a stomach ache now."

"Well, honey, that's probably your conscience kicking in and telling you that it was wrong, don't you think so?"

The girl nodded.

"I'm going to let you off with a warning, sweetheart, if you promise me you'll go pay the person who you stole the candy bar from and if you promise me you'll never do it again. Will you do those two things for me?"

"I will... and I promise."

"Good girl. Now I want you to go pay for the candy bar right now. Okay?"

"Yes, sir."

Once she was gone, Bonanno looked at his partner. "If only all the other crooks had a crisis of conscience like that little girl, huh?"

"Yeah, it'd make our job so much easier."
