DISLCAIMER! I DO NOT OWN TWILIGHT!
I was lying on the floor, holding my arm. The vampire had hit me good. One hit was all it took to cause me to fly back into a picture and its glass frame.
I glanced down at my left arm, grimacing. It was dislocated. The bone was pointing sideways out of the joint. Grunting in pain, I grabbed my arm and popped it back into place.
Standing to my feet, I could hear the loud growling from outside. Sam and his pack was fighting the Cullens, Seth and Leah. One side was fighting to kill what I had thought was an abomination of myth. The other side was fighting to protect a dead Bella and . . . Renesmee.
I already knew which side I was fighting for. I wouldn't kill Sam or any of his members. But I would protect her with my life. Her life mattered. She mattered.
Rushing out of the house, I leaped out a window and raced towards the pack of wolves that were larger than I was a human. But I was also a werewolf. And there was one rule - one law - that werewolves never broke.
I stopped in front of Sam, facing him up front. "Stop!" I ordered. "It's over!"
Sam growled enraged. It'll be over once that abomination is killed! He tried to slink around me, but I stepped to the side, blocking his path.
"If you kill her, you kill me!" I yelled.
Enough, Jacob! Sam tossed me away with one flip of his head, but when I was falling back, I shapeshifted into my werewolf form.
Regaining my feet, I stormed over to Sam, bring my fangs. I'll never let you kill her, I snarled. Unless you want to kill me along with her.
"Jacob imprinted," I heard Edward say.
Leah was shocked. What? How could he?
"Whoever a wolf inprints on can't be harmed," the blood sucker continued.
Embry, Quil, Paul, and Jared were baring their fangs in anger, but not stepping forward. They were too shocked to even think about the possiblility that I imprinted on an infant. A vampire infant.
Sam stared back in surprise. Jacob, he rumbled in a low, surprised growl. You really- He couldn't say anymore. There was no more to say.
"It's their most absolute law." Edward finally stopped after that last sentence. After that truth.
Ever so slowly, Sam's right forepaw left the ground. Then, turning his head to the pack, he barked. Let's go!
I watched as the rest of the wolves left, hearing some complaints from Paul. However, I wasn't concerned with Paul's thoughts. I wasn't worried about anything.
Rensemee was safe. And that was all that mattered.
So how was it? Did I keep Jacob in character?
