A/N: I have no idea what this is. It just is. But let me explain this first: This story starts from the part in the seventh book where Ron, Hermione, and Harry are in Grimmauld Place, and Harry goes up to Sirius's room and finds a picture with the four Marauders on it…and it changes from there. Sadly, this will remain a one-shot until I actually spend time writing another chapter instead of reading others' fanfiction. I'm sorry. But I'm addicted.
Harry made it to the doorway of his Godfather's bedroom and found the room in a mess. It was not completely disastrous, but there were many things strewn around. Papers were all over the floor, and most all the drawers were opened, their contents half-heartedly thrown back in them. Someone had obviously been searching for something.
As Harry walked farther into the room, his eyes passed across a photograph. It was as if the picture was drawing him in, so he walked towards it. It was a picture of the Marauders. They all looked so happy. Sadly, Remus was the only one left. The boy holding the photo wasn't going to cry. He had already cried enough tears, had already grieved enough people.
He threw the item on the bed, and another, smaller photo came out from behind it. The nature of this photo was a complete turn around from the previous one. This picture held only two of the four Marauders, and they were facing each other, not the camera. Harry snatched up the image as his eyes widened more and more.
"Sirius and…Remus were…together?" He was thinking aloud.
His mind could barely comprehend the new information.
"But aren't Remus and Tonks together? That means that Remus is straight. So he and Sirius couldn't have been together like that!" He tried to convince himself that the two were only being stupid in the snapshot in is hands, but he failed because in the photograph, the two were not only facing each other but every few seconds they would kiss and then smile like they had no other care in the world. Their eyes also sparkled with obvious adoration. It was futile to deny that which was obviously the truth.
"I still don't understand," thought Harry, "how could this be…?"
"Harry! Harry! Harry, are you up here?" a voice that was most definitely Hermione's said with what seemed like desperation in it.
"Yeah, I'm up here!"
"Oh my goodness; thank God we found you! Ron, I've found him! He's fine!"
When she noticed that most of Harry's attention was on something in his hand, she walked over to look too and gasped.
"Hermione…do you think they were really together…like that?"
"I suppose it's obvious, isn't it? I mean they even kiss in the picture."
"But why didn't they tell me that they were together?"
"Well, maybe…maybe they weren't even together anymore, so it didn't cross their minds. Although...maybe they were still together. Maybe that is why Remus took Sirius's death so hard. I don't know. We should ask Remus about it, you think?"
"Yeah, I think." Harry retreated back into his mind for a few moments before suddenly snapping out with, "but what about Tonks?"
"Oh…well…I can't explain that," Hermione said. Harry briefly considered whether Remus would even know the answer to his question if Hermione could not even explain it.
I will make this a multi-chaptered story eventually. Usually, I get the inspiration to write while I'm trying to go to sleep, so I'll try to write then, type up the chapter the next day, post it and go about my merry way, reading hoards and hoards or fanfiction. No guarantee.
