This was just an idea that came to me while reading quotes from the O.C. I haven't written any fanfiction in quite a while, and this was written in about half an hour...so I don't expect rave reviews or anything, but some feedback would be nice :)

Pairing: Seth/Summer

Disclaimer: I wish I owned Seth. I really do. But I don't. Or Summer... Or Captain Oats and Princess Sparkles...

Warnings: Soppiness. Cheese-fest :P

Captain Oats was a lonely horse. He was lovely, really he was. It's just that nobody really understood him. He seemed to have something about him that repelled his fellow horses. Except one.

His best friend Corporal Cool was the only person who ever really listened to Captain Oats. He was more of a brother than a friend really. He stuck up for Captain Oats when the other horses turned on him and helped get the best apples from the trees nearby.

Captain Oats wasn't unhappy with his life. He just felt that there was something missing. Every day he found himself drawn more and more to the fence that separated their paddock from the one next to them. It wasn't the luscious green grass that attracted him, or the taller trees with the greener, juicer apples. No; what attracted Captain Oats was far more beautiful.

Princess Sparkle was a gorgeous horse. Her beautiful mane shone in the morning light, and she had a smile that made Captain Oats want the whole world stand still, just to capture it in his mind forever.

Captain Oats would stand at the Fence everyday watching Princess Sparkle, loving her from a distance, but never finding the courage to actually talk to her. Princess Sparkle was far too beautiful for him and she was always surrounded by the bigger horses that Captain Oats was afraid of.

One day, with Corporal Cool's encouragement, Captain Oats neighed at Princess Sparkle. At first, she didn't hear him, so he neighed a little louder, and then a little louder, until the whole farm had fallen silent, every animal watching this one love-sick horse.

The chickens laughed at him, scorning his pathetic attitude. 'He should give it up!' they crowed. 'He'll never be good enough for her!" The Sheep just rolled their eyes. 'He's gone mad!' they insisted. 'The heat's finally got to him!'

But Princess Sparkle had heard him. She raised her hand and smiled, neighing softly back. It was the most beautiful sound Captain Oats had ever heard.

Captain Oats was not a lonely horse. He had Princess Sparkle.

Seth Cohen leant back on his bed, hands behind his head and grinned. "And that," he concluded, "Is my amazing love story of the Courageous Captain Oats and his wonderful girlfriend Princess Sparkle".

His own girlfriend Summer let out a chuckle. "Cohen, you're such a dork..."

Seth pouted. "Didn't you like it?"

"I loved it," Summer rolled her eyes. "I just think you're a dork for telling it."

"A romantic dork?"

Summer smiled and kissed him lightly on the lips. "Very romantic," she replied. "Now comb out Princess Sparkle's tail, it's looking a little messy".
