"Sophia!" When Sophia heard her name, she knew she was in for a load of trouble. I knew i shouldn't have come out this far into the woods! she thought as she ran to Daryl, who was calling for her. Not long after she began running, she heard footsteps behind her. She turned around to see that no one- no thing was behind her. She heard her name once more but it sounded like it was getting closer. Sophia ran until she felt something grab her left shoulder. She turned around again to see a walker had grabbed her and was trying to get her.

"AAHHH! Daryl!" she yelled out, hoping he would hear her while trying to get the hungry walker off of her. Daryl fortunately heard her cries and ran to her as fast as he could.

"Sophia!" he called out again. He heard the ruffling of leaves and the screams of the little girl. He knew he was close. When Daryl arrived to Sophia, her and the walker were on the ground and Sophia was struggling to get it off. Daryl immediately shot off a bolt that went into the walker's head and ran to Sophia's safety. He pushed the walker off of her, helped her up, and slammed her with questions.

"Why were ya out 'ere? Ya tryin' ta git yerself killed?!" Sophia looked at the ground in shame as she held her hurt arm.

"Daryl... I-"

"Lit me finish, young lady!" he demanded and a tear rolled down her cheek. "Ya had everyone worried sick, comin' out 'ere! Now git back to the farm and-"

"Daryl!" she yelled, picking her head up, but still in tears. The stern in her voice stunned Daryl and knew he should let her speak. "Daryl," she said again, in a loner tone. She lifted up her sleeve and revealed a giant gash on her arm that was caused by the walker. As much of a "toughy" Daryl was, he began to cry. He got on his knees to get to eye-level and hugged her tightly.

"Oh Sophia. I... I'm so sorry. I should've gotten 'ere sooner. It's all ma fault."

"I don't wanna go Daryl. You and mama are all I got left. I don't wanna leave you two." she said quietly. She parted him and looked into his sea-blue eyes. "But you gotta do it. I don't wanna become one of them." she said pointing her eyes to the 9mm in his holster.

"Sophia. I ca-"

"Please, Daryl! I'm begging you!" The thought of her becoming one of them made him sick but him shooting her in the head and ending her life then and there; he just couldn't live with the guilt. "Daryl. I don't wanna be one of them but I don't want Shane to get me either. I want you to do it 'cause you're like my daddy." Daryl nodded in agreement, understanding her pain. The two got to their feet and Daryl noticed her skin was becoming very pale. He took the gun from his holster and held it firmly. When he cocked the gun, it made Sophia close her eyes tightly, bracing for the end.

"It won't hurt. I promise." he said quietly, pointing the gun to her head. Thinking of the future without the sweet, happy, innocent little girl made him cry much more. He walked over to her and lifted up her strawberry blonde bangs and kissed her forehead.

"I love you daddy."

"I love you too, my little girl." Bang.
