Shout out to RisingGundam2006 for suggesting I do something not sad for Arcee/Soundwave.
Arcee exhausted softly, enjoying a brief moment of total relaxation. The rock beneath her was cool, as was the night air, but she didn't mind the brisk weather. She'd been in much colder, and it was nice after a long day in the desert sun. The sky above her was clear and dotted with stars, but she kept her optics dim, enjoying the solitude more than the view.
Metal scraped the ground beside her, alerting her of someone's presence. She hadn't sensed them coming, but she knew who it was, and for once she didn't feel the instinctive need to keep her guard up.
"Hey 'Wave. You're late." She teased, trying to sound bothered but unable to keep her mouth plates from quirking into a smile. Giving up the obviously failed effort, she turned her head to observe, (check out), the mech next to her.
He was propped up on his arms, a bit awkwardly due to the small purple wings jutting from them, and she could feel his stare despite his faceless visor. He gave a little jerk of the shoulders, a movement she recognized as a annoyance, and responded in Starscream's voice.
"What do you mean you can't pinpoint the signal? Try again!"
"Ah, the boss was being obnoxious again." Her voice dripped with sarcasm at the word 'boss', knowing Soundwave didn't really mesh with the Seeker. She slid closer to him, leaning her helm on his chassis, and he lowered himself to the ground so he could wrap his arms around her.
Arcee made a small sound of content, feeling his spark pulse in perfect harmony to hers. She treasured these small, stolen moments more than anything. Someday, somehow, she wanted this war to end, so she could truly be his mate. She didn't care if it seemed impossible, she was going to keep fighting for that dream. For just a chance at a future.
Soundwave, silent and still as ever, was in turmoil. He loved her. He'd never feeling so intense, so terrifyingly beautiful. He looked into her optics and was the mech he wanted to be. But it couldn't last. Megatron wouldn't remain in stasis forever. He would awaken, and he would expect his most trusted ally to be there. Soundwave prided himself on his loyalty, his skill, his promise never to fail. And he had never, in all the vorns he'd served his great master, been tempted to do so. This little blue femme had strolled into his life and changed that. The only bot he'd ever loved, the mate to his spark, and she was on the opposite side of the war. Sooner or later, he knew he would have to choose between his loyalty and his love.
Arcee suddenly rolled on top of him, surprising him out of his thoughts.
"I know that tone of silence, 'Con. You're getting serious on me again." She scolded, but then her expression softened and she brushed her fingers gently along his visor, "Let's not think about tomorrow. I love you, and for tonight, that's enough."
Soundwave cupped her face in his servos, admiring her beauty and strength, and the brilliance of her spark. It amazed him, that someone like her was the mate of his spark. He didn't think anyone could deserve someone like her.
He pulled her closer, and in his own voice he answered, "I love you with all my spark."
Squints. I literally have no idea if I do Soundwave justice or not? Why do I not do anything with him? I should fix that. Maybe give him a sparkling in the series or something. Shrugs. Reviews would be nice, hope you enjoyed it.
