A/N: What up Bronies? This is my 300 word drabble challenge. It's pretty much a charater study for each of the mane six and why certain things are so valuable to them. First up is Rainbow Dash. Enjoy! Prompt: Why does winning mean so much to Rainbow Dash?
Rainbow Dash- The Loyalty never received, the backup never given.
What was it about competition that meant so much to Rainbow dash? The drive to be the best came not from want, but from necessity.
Before she arrived at Ponyville, Cloudsdale was her unwelcoming home. A place where everypony could fly and speed was a given for most Pegasus.
When she was a filly, Rainbow Dash was resigned to the fact that she was no different than anypony else. It was a chance encounter with the Wonderbolts that changed her. The Wonderbolts had done a free demo for her school and it was like her eyes were opened. These ponies were different. Their tricks, speed, everything about them screamed different.
She wanted that. Maybe, just maybe if she could be as awesome as them, her life could be different. Rainbow Dash could be more than just another pony with a freaky mane. It was then that she asked her parents to enroll her in flight school.
There, it was drilled into her that only the fastest, flashiest ponies excelled. By the time she had performed her first sonic rainboom, the need to dominate and win had been firmly instilled in her. Anything less than awesome was deemed a failure.
When Rainbow Dash moved to Ponyville, she became like a local celebrity, but that wasn't enough. The pinnacle of her dream was becoming a Wonderbolt. To look each of the fliers in their eyes and tell them they're the reason why she's where she was today.
If she became a Wonderbolt, Rainbow Dash would truly be the best. For her, every failure proved she was average, so she did her best to never fail, never lose.
Rainbow Dash could never be average, if she was, what was the point of existing?
See that box below? It would mean a lot if you leave a review. Granted, it is a three hundred word challenge but still, review are the only payment authors receive! Until next time!
