Just Three Words
I couldn't think of anything... so here goes nothing. just a little fluff ficlet of something. what can i say, i love the number three.
A/N: remember: i don't own ANYTHING of CBS, i just like the two leading ladies.I come in the break room and she's sitting there quietly reading a magazine. "Slow night tonight?"
She looks up and smiles. "Yes, it is."
"Want more coffee?" I point to the freshly brewn pot I'm making.
"No, I'm fine." Her warm smile brightens the lonely room.
"How about company?" I hope she says 'yes'.
"Sure, come sit." She pulls back a chair for me.
"Any good articles?" I point to the magazine she's reading.
She shrugs her shoulders. "Not that much."
I sigh. Really, I don't know what I'm doing. But I know my heart is beating faster.
She puts the magazine down and smiles at me. "So what's up?"
Me loving you. "Nothing much, really." That's always as far as I get.
She looks at me with a smile. "Really, Sara? Nothing?"
I shrug my shoulders, "Nothing. And you?"
She laughs a little. "You're really something."
You're MY everything. But I sit back and smile. "Really? How so?"
She continues to smile at me. "You're very different."
"Meaning what exactly?" Now I'm curious.
"Dedicated, for starters."
To you, yes. "I hope so." I get myself another cup of coffee.
"Smart, intelligent...beautiful."
I smile and shrug my shoulders, and point to her, "you're describing yourself."
"I'm describing you." She says quietly .
I take a sugar packet and empty it into my coffee.
And she continues. "Funny, sweet, adorable."Her eyes meet mine.
I wasn't expecting that. But then again...
Still watching me, she whispers, "you're forever... wonderful."
I dropped my spoon.
She stands up and puts her hand on my arm, "I didn't mean..."
"Irresistable, seductive, charming." I whisper.
"Sara, what the..." Her hand slightly tightens on my arm. A surge of energy overtakes me.
I look into her blue eyes. "Overpowering, invigorating...sexy."
She breathes deeply and in a hoarse voice, "cute as hell."
"You're my... peace." I know my whisper was barely audible.
Her lopsided grin was way too cute. "You're mine, too."
I set my coffee down and lift her chin with my finger,"I lo...like you."
She looks into my eyes with a smirk, "I've known that."
I take a step back. "What was that?" Okay, now I'm confused.
A sly smile crosses her face, she takes a step forward.
She points to me. "I like you." She points to herself. "You like me." She takes another step forward making us inches apart. "Any problem there?"
Is this happening? "None at all..." I don't think I'm even breathing!
She laughs a little. "Well, good then." Her arms find it's way up my shoulders.
I close my eyes for a moment, "I'm not dreaming?"
"Look at me,"Her whisper was softer than a summer's breeze.
I gaze in to her eyes. My hands slowly rests on her hips."You're really here..."I've never felt a sense of belonging.
"I've been waiting." Her fingers tracing the side of my cheek. "Let's say... forever."
"Didn't know how..." Tears were forming in my eyes.
"...to tell me?" She finished my sentence. "Just say it," she cups my face in her palms.
I whisper the words I so longed to tell her. "I love you."
"I've known that."She kisses me gently.
"That's good then..." I pull her closer.
She smiles at me. "Finally, Sara speaks."
Few words does speak volumes.
