Happy Birthday Little One (Oneshot)

Four year old Christopher Perry Halliwell-Wyatt was sitting in the conservatory of the Halliwell manor. It was his birthday and he was home. Alone. How fun. His mommy, Piper, was at P3 and promised she'd be back soon. That was hours ago. His daddy, Leo, took his 6 year old brother Wyatt to a baseball game. His Aunty Phoebe was at work but she was always at work so he knew that by instinct. His Aunty Paige was at magic school grading papers. The room filled with white light as his Aunt Prue appeared. He was very used to this because whenever he was alone and sad she would come and comfort him. She had been coming a lot lately.

"Hey Chris! How has your birthday been?" She asks pushing mid-eye length chocolate brown hair out of his eyes.

"OK, I guess. Nobody cares." He said trying to hid the pain in his emerald green eyes.

"That's not true. I care, you know I care." She looks over and sees Piper standing in the doorway with tears in her eyes. "And your mommy cares."

"No she doesn't" he mumbles

Piper can't take it anymore. Her youngest son, her baby, didn't think she cared about him. He was in pain and it was her fault. It's her job to protect him from pain. She'd failed. "That's not true." she told him walking over and putting him in her lap. She gives Prue a look that says 'i need to talk to him alone' and Prue disappears in a swirl of white lights.

"It's not?" he asked looking at her with tear stained cheeks, which broke her heart.

"No it's not Chris. I love you and Wyatt more then anything." She then realized that this is not a time to bring Wyatt into it. Chris has enough problems with him. "I love you Chris. Nothing will EVER change that. I'm sorry I wasn't here today. I had something to do at work that couldn't waid. Baby you have to know that I'd rather be with you then anywhere in the world."

"I understand mom. Work's very improtant." Chris said while squirming out of her lap and walking towards the stairs.

"Chris, I know I shouldn't have gone. But, I had to. We could have lost a lot of money and I tried everything I could to get out of it. I just couldn't." she knew it was not a good enough excuse but it was all she had. She could see that since all he did was stare at the wall behind her he wasn't bying it. "Baby come on. I'll make you whatever you want to eat and we'll hang out just you and me for the rest of the day." She told him nealing infront of him and holding onto his sides to keep him looking at her. His eyes seemed to brighten.

"Really? Just you and me? No Wyatt or work or Aunty Phoebe or Aunty Paige or demons?" He asked hopefully. She smiled.

"Yes Baby, just me and you, no distractions. He smiled and hugs her around the neck tightly. "Come on." She said lifting him up and carrying him into the kitchen.

Later that night, after the macaroni & cheese and movies and Mother-Son bonding that they both desperately needed. Chris fell asleep while cuddling up against Piper on the couch and listening to Piper's story about how they got their magic. Piper picked him up laying his head on her shoulder, which he hung onto her neck tightly, and carried him into his bedroom. When she tried to lay him in his bed, his grip on her neck tightened. "Don't leave me mommy." he mumbled into her neck, where his head lay on her shoulder facing her.

"I won't I promise." she told him carrying him into her bedroom. She carefully lay him in her bed and went and changed into some pajamas. She then got in bed and held him close. "Goodnight Peanut, I love you." she whispered in his ear and kissed him on the head.

"Goodnight mommy, I love you more." he whispered in his sleep.

"That's not possible. Happy Birthday Little One."
