Summary: The dialogue as various characters are Sorted. Not exactly my most interesting fic ever, but a pleasant way to spend half an hour.

Tom Riddle (drabble -- 100 words)

"Oh ... now this is interesting. Bright, brave, hard working ... the kind of mind that I only see once in a while."

"This is all so strange..."

"You'll get used to it."

"I want to do more than that."

"Ah, yes ... a bit ambitious for a newcomer, aren't you?"

"I just ... I want my name to be remembered."

"Yes, you do. It's like a fire inside you."

"Is it ... evil?"

"Ambition? No. It's a tool. It depends how you use it."

"I want to use it."

"Then I guess it will have to be ... SLYTHERIN!"

Severus Snape (mini-epic -- 50 words)

"Hmmm... not afraid of a challenge, I see. Certainly bright, a very clever boy. Yours is an old Slytherin family, but your mother was a Ravenclaw... Ravenclaw would suit you, but you wouldn't stand out ...you want to stand out, don't you? Yes, there's no doubt ...you belong in SLYTHERIN!"

Neville Longbottom (drabble -- 100 words)

'Ah ... an interesting mind, Mr Longbottom. Many layers, hidden nooks and crannies ... a challenging mind indeed."

"M-Most people expect me to be a Hufflepuff. My Gran says--"

"Hufflepuff? Well, you'd do well there, no doubt about that. But you wouldn't have to grow in Hufflepuff ... you could just keep on going as you are."

"But -- is that a bad thing?"

"Could be, could be ... no. Hufflepuff is not for you, I'm afraid. Gryffindor, now..."

"No! Not Gryffindor -- I'm not brave enough -- everyone says --"

"Yes. The house for you is -- GRYFFINDOR!"
