George wakes up in a blind sweat, mid-scream, hands flying out to catch something that's not there. He grabs at the air, grasping at the place where he saw Fred fall in the dream. When he catches nothing, his scream turns into a sob, running through every bone in his body. Feeling unshed tears wrack through him, he clenches the muscles around his heart just as he clenches the muscles around his eyes; screwing them shut so he can't sense the hot acid on his face anymore… so he can't feel the hurt deep in his gut telling him that he will never be whole again.
