Stars Hollow First Annual Paraoke Festival
Taylor: Ladies and gentlemen, potential juvenile delinquents and young children who should be kept under strict parental control. Welcome to the first annual Stars Hollows Paraoke Festival where the good citizens of our fair town will entertain you by singing parodies of their favourite songs.
(He shuffles through his notes)
Taylor: Our first singer is I can't believe this.... Luke Danes.
(Luke walks on stage with a guitar)
Luke: Let's get this over with Taylor
Luke :( starts strumming on the guitar) heres a little song I call "Pouring coffee for Lorelai".
Rory called when she got the word,
And she said: "I suppose you've heard-
About Lorelai".
She and Max have set a date,
Make your move before it's too late.
I bit my tongue and told lie-
Asked what she meant
About me and Lorelai
Oh, I don't know why she's marrying him,
Or if she's going to go,
I guess because he asked her
But do I really want to know,
'Cos for twenty-four/seven, fifty-two weeks.
I've been pouring her coffee
Listening every time she speaks
Should've told her how I feel when I had a chance
Now I've got to get used to not pouring coffee for Lorelai..
You drink my coffee
I fix your sink
We tease each other
Don't care what they think
About me and Lorelai
Stayed up all night from dusk to dawn
Carving a chuppah for her lawn
Watched as her face came alive
As my truck pulled slowly
Out of Lorelai's drive
Oh, I don't know why she's marrying him,
Or if she's going to go,
I guess because he asked her
But do I really want to know,
'Cos for twenty-four/seven, fifty-two weeks.
I've been pouring her coffee
Listening every time she speaks
Should've told her how I feel when I had a chance
Now I've got to get used to not pouring coffee for Lorelai..
Sookie called on the wedding day
And she said the bride has ran away
Go after Lorelai
She said when Max arrived
She was just not here
I know that you've waited
All of these years
Don't let this chance disappear
Oh, I don't know why she's left him,
Or where she's going to go,
I guess she's got her reasons
that I really want to know,
'Cos for twenty-four/seven, fifty-two weeks.
I've been pouring her coffee
Listening every time she speaks
Should've told her how I feel when I had a chance
Now I'm glad I'm still able to pour coffee for Lorelai..
Now I'm glad I'm still able to pour coffee for Lorelai..
Luke: Thank you and good night (exits stage left to wild applause)
(Stage right Lorelai and Sookie are all miked up so the audience hears them)
Lorelai: Who knew Luke could sing?
Sookie: Who knew Luke could play guitar?
Taylor :( coming to stage) who knew Luke had a thing for Lorelai?
Audience: WE ALL DID.
