*This Chapter takes place after the movie from Ray's POV*
I rushed out of school, knocking plenty of little kdis out of my way. My eyes frantically searched around the place. She wasn't there. Why was she not there? Had I got the day wrong?
No, it was Friday. She was supposed to be here, waiting to take me back to her appartment. She'd never been late before, had she? I tried to think back before last week but it was all a muddle.
As I was deep in thought, a group of hyperactive first graders ran past me, accidentally spraying me with their cartons of juice.
"Watch where you're going!" I called after them. Most of the mothers turned their heads to stare at the little girl with the big voice and I turned my back on them. Mothers. They were useless. Look at my mother, she was spending her Friday at a spa and then she was going to a bar with her latest boyfriend. My Mom has never been there for me. The only person I love is Molly.
Molly. I suddenly remembered my previous thoughts. Where was she? I hoped she hadnn't forgotten about meeting me from school. Please say she hasn't forgotten.
"Hey stranger!" called out a friendly voice. Molly was standing behind me and she wrapped her tanned arms around my shoulders, embracing me in a loving hug. I turned around, feeling relieved.
"I thought you weren't coming!" I said, staring up at Molly's big blue eyes. She stared back, shaking her beautiful blonde curls.
"Don't be silly Ray, I'd never forget. I just got caught up," she reasurred me, patting my head. I raised my eyebrows and accepted her explanation and we headed down the street, hand in hand like a lovestruck couple.
"You two are very loving for sisters," commented somebody's Grandma. Molly nodded and rpelied with 'Thankyou, we are, aren't we?"
Molly and I skipped down the street, holding back giggles. When we turned the corner, we both burst out laughing.
"Sisters! I will take it as a compliment that I look young enough to be the sister of an eight-year-old," giggled Molly. She picked me up and whirled me around and set me back down onto the pavement.
Feeling a sudden rush of love, I hugged Molly's waist tight and whispered "I wish we were sisters, Molly." Molly hugged me back.
"I don't," she said bluntly. I took a step back in shock and stared up at Molly.
"Because if we were sisters, we would bugg eachother sometimes. W're best friends and that means more than anything to me," she said, grinning widely.
"Me too!"
