*Author's Note: I wrote this in literally 5 minutes, so it probably won't be good or up to par with any other fanfics on this site. It was an idea that came to my mind. I might continue it or just leave it at chapter 1 forever*

David was afraid. As he huddled underneath the bed of his home out in the woods; he heard the loud gunshots of weapons being fired.

"Hold them back", He heard a voice cry out. A few more shots rang out before he heard a blood curdling scream and then silence. A woman screamed in anger and rapidly fired shots. There was the sound of a whimper. David's body was shaking as tears fell down his face. He had never felt such fear in his entire life.

The loud slam of a door followed by the errie creek of it closing made david jump. He held his hand to his mouth to keep himself quiet.

"David! David, where are you?" His mother cried out. David crawled out from underneath the bed and saw his mother. She was bleeding from her arm and has scratches on her huntress uniform. She held a bat which also transformed into a gun if needed. David saw light smoke emitting from the chamber.

"Oh thank god," His mother grasped him in a warm embrace. She was struggling to hold back tears. His mother ran her head along david's brunnette hair and looked into his caramel colored eyes. She smiled with the tenderness of a mother; but looked back when she heard growling.

"Shit, they're coming." She held her gun tightly in her hand, finger on the trigger if needed. She put her hand on david's shoulders.

"David sweetie, mommy needs you to hide ok?" His mother said. David was confused. He knew there were monsters outside. Evil creatures formed of malice and hatred that was inside every human being. He didn't know why they were here, but he just wanted them to disappear. His wanted his mother, father, and he to be left alone. David went back under the bed and his mother covered it with sheets.

"No matter what you hear outside, don't come out. Ok, Sweetie?" His mother asked. David wanted to cry. He didn't want his mother to leave him. As he nodded his head, his mother cried one last tear before closing the door; leaving david locked inside the house. On the outside he heard bullets a few more times before the growling got louder and louder. Then there was a chilling hush.

David listened out for something. Anything. A sign that both of his parents were still alive. Unfortunately, David heard it. The scary, unfiltered, sound of growling from the outside. He heard tales of these beasts. Monsters from the unknown.

Creatures, known as Grimm.
