Wow, I think this is the shortest fic I've ever written! It just popped up in my head when I was watching Phantom Planet today on TV.
Disclaimer: I don't own this wonderful show, Danny Phantom. If I did, I'd have made several more episodes dealing with themes never fully explored in the third season.
Tucker sighed as he pulled his favorite red beret out of the dryer, noting the black smudges still on the front of it. He'd been trying and trying for weeks to get the permanent marker out that Download had used to autograph it, but so far all he'd managed was to create a large, dark smudge. "Great," he complained out loud, pulling the beret on in spite of the smudge. He couldn't take another day without his favorite hat, so he'd just have to deal with it for now. But the more he thought about it, the more he thought about how it had gotten there.
"Remember, the mayor, who is constantly watching, loves you!"
"Yes! I'm just a normal teenager!"
"Oh yeah normal rocks."
"We could go over to the arcade and play that new Masters' Blasters game! It's fun, you hunt ghosts…"
"I have news that will impact the entire world!"
"What if we turned the Earth intangible?"
"Behold, the addresses of a bajillion ghosts!"
"Tucker Foley will lead the construction team in building the transfer device."
"Tucker!How- much- longer?!"
"It's okay, Danny. They know."
"Citizens of Amity Park and of the world, as the youngest mayor in Amity Park history, it is my great honor to present this commemorative statue honoring the hero who bravely saved us all: Danny Phantom! An exact duplicate of the statue now stands proudly in the capital of every nation in the world. And each will stand for as long as we have our world, because thanks to Danny Phantom, we still have one."
Tucker smiled fondly. If looking at the smudge on his beret had brought back that many memories of his two best friends and of the most exciting adventure of his life, maybe he could keep it around for just a little longer.
