This a drabble for a quote from a book of Chinese and Japanese proverbs and sayings. There may be a few drabbles in this series.

I do not own any of the Harry Potter characters, and I do not own these quotes. I am just tying them together in my own way.

"When a caged bird sings, birds flying in the sky are thereby summoned and gather around; and when the flying birds gather around, the bird in the cage strives to get out," Hermione said in a dreamy state.

"Oh. Well, what does that mean?" Harry queried.

"Well, it's a quote, from Nichiren. It means that although someone may be perfectly happy the way they are, when they see what else is out there for them, what they're missing, they suddenly want out, and to find other things in life."

"Oh. Well, why are you using this quote?" he asked now.

"Because, Harry, I am like that bird. I was relatively happy in my muggle life, as happy as is possible for a muggle born in my previous situation, but when I got that letter from Hogwarts... well, I knew that there was something more for me out in the world. I am the bird, because now I see what is right for me, and I want it."
