~Sora~
You sent a lopsided smile in the general direction of your silver-haired companion as you both attempted to tear your eyes from the other two who sat a short distance from you. As the brunette of your affections sent another dazzling grin to your once-best friend, your heart seemed to rise to your throat, cutting off any words and preventing you from breathing. Your eyes stung as your vision blurred once more. Riku put one arm around your shoulders, pulling you to rest against him.
"It hurts..."
You rubbed the area on your chest where you knew your heart was, for the dull ache coming from it gave away the location.
"I know."
Riku wiped your eyes before the tears could fall. It was then that the other two noticed you.
"Hey! When did you two start going out?!"
Sora's innocent question only resulted in you sobbing and crying harder.
"Sora, you freak! You made her cry! What's wrong with you?!"
You giggled a little, glad that Kairi didn't love him back.
"It's not my fault! They're the ones who-"
"Shut up, Sora!"
Riku stayed silent and expressionless, save for the small smirk that crossed his lips. He let you go when he thought you were finally calm enough.
You were then engulfed in another pair of arms as Sora held you flush against his body.
"I'm sorry (y/n). I didn't mean to make you cry."
Your arms came up and squeezed him back.
It was then that you noticed Kairi gazing at Riku like she wanted to be held.
Too bad the boy didn't notice, for his eyes were on you and Sora.
"Stupid, unrequited love..."
And with that you held the brunette tighter.
At least you had him for this moment.
