Roy glanced up as the door to his office burst open, and Edward Elric stormed into the room. With a sigh, Roy set his pen down and waited for the yelling that was sure to happen any moment. Really, this did get rather tiring after a while. Despite his tendency to put tedious work aside until the last moment, Roy really did have a lot to do, and he did do it.

On cue, Ed started ranting about something; Roy wasn't even sure what, since all the words seemed to jumble together. In an effort not to cover his ears, Roy placed an elbow on his desk, rested his chin on it and gave the teen a lethargic look.

Growling, Ed stormed to the desk and slammed a hand down on it. "You're not even listening to me! What I have to say is important, and I'm tired of you either ignoring me or telling me I'm wrong!"

Roy sighed and lazily sat up straight. Babysitting was not in his job description... Really, they needed to pay him more...

"Alright, Fullmetal, you have my full and undivided attention," Roy said as seriously as he could.

The teen narrowed his eyes as if this were some joke, but when he saw that he really did have Roy's attention he started talking. Roy nodded in all the right places and when the kid would pause, Roy would say, "You're right."

At first this only seemed to spur the kid on more, but confidence and triumph quickly turned to confusion. Finally, Ed asked hesitantly, "Do you really think I'm right?"

"Oh, absolutely," Roy lied, amused at how quickly the kid had calmed down.

For a moment, Ed simply stared at him, in dumfounded shock, then said quietly, "Uh... maybe I should go..."

Roy nodded, and said, "You're right again."

Ed blinked, and seemed to think about that for a moment before turning around and slowly walking toward the door. Looking back, Ed stared hard at Roy before shaking his head and quietly letting himself out.
