It was a cold day in November when they got the news.
'I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do for him the disease has spread too far. The best we can do is make him as comfortable as we can till the end, I'm so sorry.'
Those words would forever echo in my ears, at first I didn't want to believe them, I spent months aside Draco while he was lying on his deathbed telling him that we'd find a way to cure him.

It was a warm summers day when I went into our bedroom and I saw the empty bed, I ran frantic around the house almost falling down the stairs looking for him. Then I saw him, he was outside leaning heavily against the willow tree his back turned towards me. I wiped the tears away from my face I didn't know if they were from rage that he left his room, joy that I'd found him or relief that he wasn't dead.
'Draco what are you doing out here, you can't leave the house in this state you could worsen your condition!'
Draco smiled and looked at me, his skin had gotten so pale the sun made it almost translucent. His hair shined delicately around his face and he was so small it looked like the wind itself could break him and he spoke so gently.
'Harry, love stop. Do you realize how long it's been since I've left that damned room? I know I'm dying, love, and there's nothing you or I can do about that so please just let it go. You keep burrying yourself inn work hoping to find a cure but I don't have much time left and all I want-'
'Stop it! No more Draco I wont listen to this nonsense! You're going to be fine, I'm going to help you and we'll find a way, please stop talking like this.'
Draco turned and looked deeply into Harry's teary eyes
'I'll always love you Harry but I'm not going to be here much longer, I've spoken with the Doctors when they visit. This is going to be my last summer, I don't want to waste it in bed alone' a tear slid down his perfect cheek and Harry brushed it away.

'I'm sorry Dray I just don't want to give up on you- on us.' Harry hugged his gently, not wanting to hurt his frail love.

'Harry I'll always be there for you, and I know you tried your best but all I want is rest and to be held by you. To see your eyes full of love looking at me when I wake up in the morning instead of waking to a cold bed alone and only seeing your tired red-rimmed eyes when you have worked yourself to exhaustion.'
Draco slowly lowered himself to the ground, shrugging off Harry's attempts to help him and lyed against the grass with a soft sigh.
'Harry, just lie down with me and hold me like you used to'
It was a warm day when Draco finally passed on, he died with a smile on his face Harry by his side and a light tan adorning his normally pale skin.
