((Quick Author note. MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES: DEATH NOTE))

No one had been told that the infamous 'Kira' had been killed. After Near and the SPK had defeated Light in his long-term battle against crime, the amount of Criminals getting punished went to an all time low. To them, for some unknown reason, Kira had stopped. Some people in Japan cheered. Kira was a menace to them anyway. But some wouldn't feel safe to leave their homes. If Kira was really dead, then how could those more dangerous people, who would rose from the ashes of the dead criminals be stopped?

"Near. We've found Light Yagami's body." This news pleased Near. He stood up from where he was seated in the warehouse, and he began to walk. Matsuda followed after him. "Near, what about the Death Note? Are you leaving it here?" Near stopped in his tracks. What would happen to the Death Note? He thought to himself, before turning around and picking it up. This one was Misa Amane's. Or so he believed. As far as he was aware, this was just a Death Note.

And he /Will/ continue Kira's Work.

-Time: 09:34. Location: Beverley, United Kingdom. Person: Carter Dyson-

As the clock ticked in the classroom, Carter was writing notes. This was his first proper Examination, and he couldn't mess it up. He would look up at the teacher, to put full concentration to get perfect notes. As time quickly passed, he had filled about three and a half pages of notes, on top of the other three and half pages of notes he had written before. As the bell rung, Carter placed all of his books and equipment into his bag as he walked out of the classroom.

Carter had a medium build, with long hair that covered his left eye. Normally, he would wear glasses, but he thought he looked better without them. He wore a black coat, with a normal school uniform underneath.

He furrowed his eyebrows as he placed his hands into his pockets, the cold air attacking his entire body. He sighed as he breathed out, gazing across the field. He stopped as he arrived next to a tree. He placed his hand on the Oak, sighing again softly. Laying down at the bottom, he started the playing of music on his phone, to block the outside world from disturbing him. This isolation that he felt now is what gets him to stay calm and collected.

Without noticing, a strange and small, black object fell from the sky. It landed only a few feet away from him, but he hadn't noticed it.
