A/N: Hey guys! This is my first Hetalia fic ever! And I wanted to start out with one of my favorite couples: Turkey x Greece. Also, I'm still a little new to Hetalia, so if I get anything wrong, I would like to apologize in advance. Anyway, I hope you guys like it. And wish Sadiq a Happy Birthday!
Disclaimer: I don't own Hetalia, but if I did the guys would probably be shirtless a lot more…and I know many people would like that. ;)
Tulips and Cupcakes
A sharp knock on the door caused the Turk to stir, though he did not wake. After a moment or two, another knock rang through the house. With an irritated sigh, he tossed the sheets off of his form carelessly. He stumbled through his house sleepily while mindlessly scratching the stubble along his jaw. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he opened the door.
"'The hell do you want this early in the morning?" he yawned in annoyance, his fingers massaging his eyes awake.
When he received no reply, Turkey looked up to find the space in front of him as empty as the head of the cat-loving Greek. With the thought of Heracles came a playful smirk and a glitter of amusement in his amber eyes. Not too soon after his mouth contorted into a neutral expression before leaning forward and glancing around. He scoffed when he saw no one and was about to slam the door when something at his feet caught his eye.
Sitting in front of him was a cupcake with an envelope beneath it. He quirked an eyebrow curiously before crouching down and picked up the pastry. Protruding from the white frosting was a melting red candle. The small flame flickered lazily. Without a second thought, a small burst of air left his lips and extinguished the fire. He pulled lightly on the green, reflective wrapper to reveal chocolate cake. As he took a bite, a burst of sweet tartness filled his mouth as the chocolate and raspberry filling tackled his taste buds. Within a moment or two, there was nothing left of the cupcake but the crumb covered wrapper.
The golden exterior of the envelope sparkled as the sun rose higher in the sky. His human name was written neatly on the front. Recognition sparked in Sadiq's eyes the longer he analyzed the writing. He stood to his full height and leaned against the door frame as a small smile played childishly on his lips. As he slipped the card out of the envelope, something dark fell to his feet. A freshly pressed tulip with bright, crimson petals lay against the hard wood floors of his home. The tips of his fingers brushed gently against the soft petals as he brought the flower to his nose and inhaled the sweet scents.
He glanced at the cover of the card, which just happened to be the Turkish flag, before reading quietly to himself, a huge grin plastered across his face by the end:
Happy Birthday Sadiq,
Congratulations for being one of the oldest nations in the world. This means you're still an old geezer. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the flower and cupcake. And…I'm sorry. For most of the arguments we've had over the years (even though most of them were your fault). Let's hope this year is better. Happy Birthday!
There was no signature anywhere, but Sadiq didn't need one to know who sent the treat. His amber gaze looked over the horizon once more.
"Thank you, Hera'," he whispered to the open air before turning around and shutting the door behind him.
A loud breath was let out from behind one of the columns. Heracles glanced over his shoulder at the door his best friend was on the other side of. His already pink cheeks flushed into an even darker shade, almost surpassing the tulip, and his green eyes sparkled shyly yet lazily. His lips curled up ever so slightly.
"You're welcome, birthday boy."
A/N: Sorry if it wasn't very romantic or anything, but…it's the thought that counts! Anyway I hoped you enjoyed it! Anyone want me to make a sequel full of fluff, just let me know. Until next time!
