Just a myth...
"Chiron? Are you here?" came a questioning voice.
"Yes, I'm here. Come in my dear," the old centaur answered. He had been enjoying listening to his favorite C.D., but all good things come to an end.
"We got a new recruit. She's uhh a little confused." the camper said.
"So we didn't travel back in time? I'm I on one of those prank shows? Cause if I am I knew it all along!" came a third squeaky voice.
A young teenage girl with sea green eyes and long black hair walked in. She looked so much like a hero he once trained, the same brooding look and doubtful nature.
"Hello, I am Chiron. I will be your trainer"
"Well umm hi my name is C.C." she answered.
"Forgive me if this is rude, but does C.C. stand for anything?" he asked with growing curiosity.
"It stands for Percy. My parents wanted a boy," she mumbled.
"Hmm and do you know anything about your namesake?" he questioned.
"Ummm I think we learned about him in history. Didn't he stop the Titan king from rising and then died a tragic hero's death in the Giant wars?" She answered.
"That's the basic idea. Now, what if I told you all of that was real. That Percy Jackson actually lived."
"No way all that stuff supposedly happen when America was only a couple hundred years old. All those stories are just myths." she hurriedly responded.
"Well how would you like it if in the future people thought of you as just myth?" He said with a sparkle of humor in his eyes.
"OK that's a pretty scary thought," came her slightly stunned reply.
"Amelia," the camper who had been sitting quietly stood," show C.C. around camp will you? I hope you like it here C.C."
She nodded and left. He looked over at his wall of pictures at the son of Poseidon who's life had been torn away from him. He remembered how he had been just as doubtful. He looked at the boy who was now just a myth.
