"It's bigger on the inside..." I said as I stepped into the phone box and then out again. I ran my fingers over the ancient, royal blue wood. I cirlcled the whole thing as my mouth hung open. I cocked my head to one side and slid my chin into the groove between my thumb and my pointer finger as I contemplated the situation. A strange man with a blue box that's bigger on the inside shows up early in the morning and offers to help me with my problems. All of that advice that constantly gets shoved into my ear by my elders seems to keep surfacing, but then again I push it all back farther into my mind. I'm sixteen, I can do what ever I want.

"So, who are you? Wait hold on let my rephrase that what are you?"

"Clever girl aren't you, I like 'em clever," the doctor said as he stroked the box.

"Excuse me?" I took a step backward and felt my cheeks get hot. I quickly raised my hands to my cheeks to hide to rosy buds blooming there. He nearly tripped franticly trying to correct his mistake. His hands flew upward and outward, "Companion! I meant companion! I like my companions to be clever! Not..." he didn't get to finish and part of me was glad he didn't. The box made a large banging noise and the lights went out for a second and then came back on with a redish blackish glow. The awful sound continued, it was like a very deep pinging noise.

"Is that suppose to happen?" I asked eagerly regaining the step that I took back.

"Huh," he turned his head slightly still staring ahead like half of him was listening half was assesing the conundrum and with half the brain power it took a while to procces. After a slim moment though it clicked yet he still had his gaze locked onto the box, "the tardis does this sometimes when she is sick, doesn't quite think something is right, she senses a paradox, or doesn't like something, but it looks like it's because..." he trailed off then slowly turned his head in my direction, " I think it's because something isn't quite right. Ok, listen to me I want to sit down and you're going to explain everything about this place to me," something about his tone was condescending as if he were talking to a child instead of a sixteen year old. That sort of sparked an angry flame that I intended to snuff out, but just couldn't find the snuffer. I said this partly because I was mad and partly because it was a perfect opportunity to find out those secrets i've been itching to hear. I raised one eyebrow, jutted out my hip and folded my arms just like I had seen some of the Candor do,

"No, you listen to me, an eye for an eye," also something I heard the Candor say, "you tell me everything you know and I tell you everything I know."

"An eye for an eye," he repeated.

"An eye for an eye," I echoed.

He smirked slightly, "Alright," It worked... I'm going to know! I cold, icy fear invaded my fleeting moment of warmth. What if I didn't want to know? What if it's better not knowing? He held out his hands and I just couldn't resist the temptation was just to much. Although I hesitated before taking his hand, I took his hand. Right as we started walking back to sit on my house and exchange secrets I heard I familiar voice. I twirled around color draining from my face and my breath coming out in smothered gasps. My brother, Caleb Prior, stood there disbelief evident on his face. As if things couldn't get any worse, the doctor's blue box disapeared right infront of him. Right in front of Caleb.
