A/N: This is my best attempt at a drabble. I'm kinda long winded so it got carried away, but you get the idea. This takes place just after Vala and Daniel made sweet lovin' in Unending. Can I say sweet lovin'? lol. And it proceeds some more sweet lovin'. Wow, that's fun to say. Anyway, this is just my take on it. I've seen several versions of what Vala's response was to Daniel breaking her heart and then giving in and them doing the deed. I have enjoyed reading all of them, but this is my opinion on how it would have happened. This is not to say that Daniel and Vala would never talk about stuff, I just think they are two people who are very much in their own heads and wouldnt want to fully share all the goings on in their heads right off the bat. Besides, they didnt need words in order to go from crying to making out, so I figured that words just werent their medium of communication when it really mattered. I don't know if anything I just said made sense, but hopefully it makes more sense when you read the story. Enjoy (I hope) lol.
Disclaimer: Could I even have a chance at trying to convince you that I own these characters? ...I didn't think so.
In the ecstacy of the moment, they had plunged forward with no regard for how quickly it all happened. They had waited long enough. Knowing the feelings of the other were as strong and as real as the feelings in their own hearts made the passion overflow. As they found themselves falling on the bed, the only thing on their minds was how wonderful the other one felt within their arms.
Now they lay on their sides wrapped in each others arms trying to come down from the passion and relax. Vala wasn't one for cuddling, but she couldn't help but love the feeling of his arms around her as she stared out the window at the vastness of space. His mouth was at her neck and the feeling of his heavy breath brushing her ears was making her passion flood her head again. As he placed feather light kisses along her shoulder and the soft flesh at the base of her neck, she couldn't help but smirk. Only moments before they had been yelling at each other. Or rather, Daniel had been yelling at her. She couldn't deny that the words hurt. Those tears had been real, but Daniel's actions spoke louder than his words. They had a way without saying any thing, the two of them. They frequently said many many words, but secretly meant something else. When it came to Daniel, he always said the sensible thing, while temptation threatened to spill over. She just understood that while Daniel didn't want to give into her, because it seemed like it would be impossible for them to work, he couldn't resist this feeling.
They were strange this way. While most in this situation would feel uncomfortable in silence, they were uncomfortable talking about their feelings. They quietly understood that words didn't need to be spoken. Vala didn't have to tell Daniel that she loved him practically from day one, and Daniel didn't have to say sorry for being stupid and ignoring his feelings, while hurting her. Vala didn't have to say that she couldn't give her whole heart to Tomin because she had loved him first, and Daniel didn't have to tell Vala that he had found in her what he had been missing ever since Sha're died.
No words of confession were needed between them. Vala smiled again and almost laughed. Only a slight giggle escaped her mouth, and Daniel responded by stopping his minstrations on her neck and raising his head off the bed slightly. Vala caught the unspoken question and simply looked over her shoulder into his extraordinarily beautiful blue eyes and uttered the only words that could be spoken now between them.
"Don't have serious feelings for me, huh?"
"Absolutely none," he said with a laugh as he kissed her neck and rolled her over to take advantage of her mouth again.
