Heating Up
A Lums/Cogs Fanfiction
Lumiere sat alone in the front room of the castle, smiling to himself. He was human again. He was tall and handsome and could cook again, just like he wanted. He couldn't wait to see his friends again. "Yoo hoo!" a certain flirtatious woman called. It was Babette, who was no longer a feather duster, but looked like a human version in that feathery dress of hers. "Babette!" Lumiere said excitedly, standing up. She ran over, her high heels clacking, into Lumiere's arms and kisses him sweetly. Mrs. Potts came out, followed by Chip and Madame De La Grande Bouche. Where was Cogsworth? It was not like him to be late, especially the day that they were human again! Then, the plump majordomo stepped out in his fancy clothes and his hair in a ponytail similar to Lumiere's. He smoothed his vest and looked up into the distant former-candle's eyes. "Lumiere." he said softly. "Cogsworth!" he said. "Lumiere!" he said, hugging him. Cogsworth had never displayed affection to Lumiere, leaving him very confused. Cogsworth, realizing what he'd just done, pulled away from the confused maitre'd.
Lumiere made his way to the kitchen later that day only to find a blushing and burnt Cogsworth with a dinner prepared. "Cogsworth!?" Lumiere exclaimed. He didn't seem to care about the food, he cared more about the burns covering Cogsworth's skin. "I tried to make dinner... I finally got it right... after a couple of burns..." Cogsworth said sheepishly. Lumiere softly kissed the burns on Cogsworth's hand and cheek. Cogsworth blushed at the action. Babette walked in to see him kissing the cheek of the burnt head of the household. "Oh my god!" she said and ran away. "Babette!" Lumiere said as he turned around. "I can explain..." Lumiere turned back to Cogsworth. "Want me to explain?" he said. He didn't haveto wait for Cogsworth to answer because their lips were already pressed together.
When Cogsworth had went to bed for the night, Lumiere went into the room of the upset maid. "Babette..." Babette huffed and turned away. "I'm sorry... I just... I'm in love with Cogsworth..." Babette pushed him out and said one word before slamming the door in his face. "Gaywad." SLAM!
Lumiere silently slipped into bed with the sleeping Cogsworth, wrapping his arms around him. "Goodnight, beautiful." he said in his thickest French accent and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of him. Even after his short, but angry fight with Babette he was happy because he was in the warm embrace of the man he loved.
