2 Hours after the kiss with Sheldon, Penny, Amy and Bernadette were sitting in a private hospital room passing the baby around like a football, each smiling and talking softly when Sheldon, Raj, Leonard and Howard came through the doors.
'Hey' Sheldon said as him and the guys tread lightly into the room.
Sheldon refused to make eye contact with Penny, he wasn't sure whether it was the fact just hours before he had his hands up her private parts or whether it was the kiss in the bathtub, either way the only person he was interested in was the beautiful baby girl Penny held in her arms.
'How are you feeling' Leonard said smiling as he looked at the baby in his friends arms.
When Penny first told Leonard she was pregnant he was anything but happy, he couldn't help but think if he had been with Penny the baby she held in her arms would be his and not that jerk Kurt who had fled the country just to get away from Penny.
But as soon as her bump began to show those feelings just turned into happiness for his friend.
'A lot better now thanks' Penny said staring down at her little bundle of joy.
'She's gorgeous Penny' Leonard said edging his way around the bed with Howard and Raj.
'She really is' Howard said smiling, holding Bernadette's shoulder.
Raj leaned into Howard's ear and whispered something.
'No I don't think the hospital cafeteria sell beer' Howard said looking particularly disgusted.
Raj looked embarrassed and just continued staring at the baby.
Because of all the commotion and excitement he completely forgot to drink something before he arrived.
'Any names yet' Leonard said gently tickling the baby's face.
'Yes…Dorothy…Dorothy Elizabeth'.
Everyone smiled and began talking again, everyone except Sheldon who was sat in the corner still smiling and looking at the baby.
He couldn't work out what he was feeling, when he kissed Penny he felt…warm and comfortable it was like all his OCD habits and germ phobias completely disappeared for a moment, he felt normal.
When he kissed Amy he never felt that way, he always felt as if it was a chore with Amy, he felt as if he couldn't wait for it to be over, but with Penny it felt like stars colliding.
Two hours later visiting time was over and everyone had left.
Penny had to stay in overnight for observations because of the trauma of the birth.
All night she kept peering over to Dorothy and smiling, she couldn't believe it…she was a mom.
Although she had pleasant thoughts when she looked over at her new born baby, her emotions where like a roller coaster.
She didn't sleep a wink.
She kept thinking about Sheldon and how the kiss had left her feeling, when Sheldon placed his soft lips on hers she felt as if it was the last piece of a puzzle she'd been trying to put together for years.
She felt as if she was part of a little family she'd dreamed about all her life.
Penny didn't know whether to cry or laugh her emotions where that unstable.
Although she had been thinking all of this, the one thought that stayed in her mind was the lie she had been telling everyone these past 9 months.
The lie about the father of her baby.
