SHELTER

I hear his breath, even and slow beside me.
And I hear the sounds of the winds, in the lands beyond.
I find myself wishing, that our love be let known.
And I know then, that our love is true.

Sam, I do love you. For the reasons you know why
For your strength of courage, and for your love of me.

For everything that has gone by, and for things that are yet to be.
I feel that time draws ever closer, of things that I do not wish.
I do not wish to lose US Sam, no more than to lose my soul.
And yet it seems that I am losing everything,
To the darkness of this Mordor shadow.

The darkness that dwells on my heart, I hope shall not reach yours.
I vow here Sam my dear, that you are pure and free.
No matter what perchance may happen to me.

My love for you grows ever stronger.
So that you may go on, even if I may not.
I beg you remember me Sam, for I will remember you.

Let it be known Sam, of what you've done for me.
I know that you shall be there, when I need you most.
Let your heart see none, of the burden that I carry.

I beg that you be free, of this terrible shadow.
And yet I see that you do, see what I see now.
The shadows of darkness that have fallen on me.

I'm afraid dear Sam, of what I might become.
Afraid that I may forget, all that you have done.

A scream in the nightfall, and at once you awaken,
Sheltering me with your own love, and soothing with your own voice.
You hold me close to you, and I lay my head on your shoulder,
Telling you of the things I fear, and yet I leave some out.

I'm afraid even more so now Sam, as I'm shaking with silent fear.
And you still hold on to me, as I need to have you so near.
You make me feel safe my Sam, showing me your care,
Giving me all you can, and not showing me your wear.

Hold on to me closer Sam, and let me feel safe,
In your arms is warm and gentle, and yet I feel like flying.
Loving and safe, and protected from all, is my desire.

And so I close my eyes again Sam,
As I'm safe inside your embrace.
Falling safely into your shadow, rather than the other.
