Te Amo

Hermione's parents had high hopes of her learning a second language. The little girl, however, showed no interest in it. Whether Hermione's parents put French, German, or Bulgarian in front of her, it didn't matter.
Finally, Hermione's father decided to start teaching her Spanish. He was delighted to see that it was finally something Hermione seemed to like.
Of course, he didn't know that Hermione just liked hearing the accents of the Spanish speakers on the recording he played for her. He thought she genuinely cared about learning Spanish.
A few months later, the Grangers ran into a group of tourists. One of them asked a question in Spanish that neither Dr. Granger understood.
Hermione decided to show off the one Spanish phrase she had picked up from the recording. "Te amo!"
As the tourists laughed, the male Dr. Granger realized that this was all the Spanish Hermione had learned after several months, and that she didn't even know what it meant.
Clearly, he would have to try a different approach.
