This is a diary entry made by Antigone, right after Creon and Haimon's argument. Please review if you like it:) Sophocles owns Antigone.
Dear diary,
Today I received a visit from Haimon in my guarded cell. When he came, he was very upset.
"What's wrong?" I questioned, trying not to envision the worst.
"I had an argument with my father today." He told me. I hardly needed to ask about what.
"Are you okay?" I asked worriedly.
"Yes," He sighed, taking me in his arms. "My father just needs to learn to see reason!"
"Creon is a fool." I said disgustedly.
"You shouldn't say such things," Haimon scolded. "Someone could hear."
"What do I care?" I laughed darkly. "I'll be dead soon anyway."
"Still, it is dangerous." He told me. He sighed deeply and continued. "I told him that most people in the kingdom don't want to see you punished, don't think you did wrong. I told him that other opinions matter, I even tried flattery, but nothing would suede him. We both got angry and insultive. I left in a huff before he could bring you out and kill you before my eyes." He looked pained at this. My eyes widened in shock. "He thinks me a love struck fool," Haimon said unhappily. "Maybe he is right." He sighed, pulling me closer.
"This is my fault," I shut my eyes against the pain. The pain of knowing I had hurt him, the pain that I had failed in my task to bury my brother, the pain of all Creon's injustices. I pulled away from Haimon. "I hate to see you unhappy."
"No," He said quickly, pulling me back into his arms and kissing me softly. "It is Creon's fault. All of this is. You have done only right."
"If only Creon could see that." I frowned.
"If only," Haimon agreed.
