Banelings
There was a clutch of banelings,
Hidden underground.
Waiting for some orders,
Told not to make a sound.
…
Bu then they heard some footsteps,
A terran force approached.
Thought that this could be their world,
Acting beyond reproach.
…
So the banelings waited for them,
Popped up at a command.
Curses, cries, they filled the air,
The terrans made their stand.
…
But soon it was all over,
In a storm of acid rain.
The terrans writhed in agony,
In torment from their pain.
…
But no banelings were left either,
But that was about to change.
As zerglings came on bounding by,
Their genes they would exchange.
…
So then new banelings burrowed down,
Waiting to erupt.
Such is the fate of banelings,
Life can be so abrupt.
