Ven has always protected Sora, for Ven is his guardian. When Sora was young, he always remembered seeing Ven's light, not knowing what it was or that he even had a guardian.

Sora is over come by darkness. It consumes him and he allows it to take his heart. Thus, he is torn away from everything he's over known. Even his best friend, Kairi, is beyond saving him. Ven is so troubled for Sora.
The darkness is so thick...
Ven uses all of the power within him to help guide Sora back to the light, back to his old life, back to Kairi. He takes away his own heart and gives it to Sora; Sora is rebirthed.
Though his beloved guardian is gone, he still remains in Sora's heart. And they will forever be as one.
