The Doctor watched in horror as he watched Rose let go of the Magna Clamp to reach the lever. He held his breath until the computer announced "Online and locked." The problem now, the suction of The Void was even stronger than before, and he could see Rose's fingers slipping.
"Rose, hold on! Hold on!"
Rose was trying so hard, oh how she was trying so hard to keep her grip on the lever she was holding onto. Yet, she couldn't hold on any longer, The Void's suction was too much for her, she slipped. The Doctor's hearts skipped beats as she looked at him. The look on his face, she knew, would haunt her forever.
Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, expecting her fate and she few towards the open Void.
"Rose! Rose!"
Before she knew it, the winds round her started to die down and she collided with the floor as the computer said, "Systems closed."
"Rose!" The Doctor yelled as he ran toward the ravaged form that is his companion and held her form in his arms, gently shaking her. "Rose! Rose wake up!" He begged as he checked over her. Nothing seemed to be broken. "Rose! Please!" He kept begging, until he saw her eyelids twitch. "You're alive!"
Moaning, she opened her eyes slowly. "Of course. You can't lose me that easily."
The Doctor couldn't help but let out a small smile, but looked down at his companion with sad eyes. "I'm so sorry, Rose."
"Doctor... I made my choice..." She looked up at him, now feeling the pain of a headache coming on. "I know the consequences of that choice." Slowly, she began to sit up on her own. "Doctor, can we head towards the TARDIS now?"
He nodded as he stood up with her, feeling quite guilty. Feeling a single tear roll down his face, he quickly realized what just happened. He almost lost his companion for what wasn't the first time, but on top of that, she lost her family.
