Hermione is sick of Tom Riddle always being better than her. Even if she answers a question, he just has to talk and say something else about the topic, and gets more points.
All the teachers love him. All the students love him. Everyone loves him. But Hermione. NEWT's were coming up. Only a few months, not much time. Hermione is spending all her time in the library, trying to get ready for NEWT's.
Hermione is Head Girl this year. And has to share a dormitory with the Head Boy, Tom Riddle.
"Granger?" Oh, it's him. Hermione looks up and us usual, his silky black hair was combed to perfection, only a few strands hung attractively into his eyes. He smiled down at her charmingly. It's made him look irritatedly handsome. His facial features were fine with high cheekbones, pale skin and a strong jawline. The uniform hugging his tall frame nicely, showing some muscles. He may be handsome, some he was a smart arse and a jerk.
"Yes Riddle?" She asked, looking back down to her book infront of her.
"I simply wanted to tell you that there's a Prefect meeting tomorrow at six" the Slytherin replied.
"I know, I'll try not forget. But if I am late, I'll either be here or in my room" The Ravenclaw states.
"I'll come looking for u if ur 2 minutes late. See you later" Riddle said, with one last smile and walked off.
Settle down, settle down," the professor ordered, before jumping right into the lesson. "Last time, we discussed Boggart's. Now, who can tell me what a Boggart is?" Hermione likes this teacher, she was strict, but unfortunately she - as well as everyone else - loves Riddle. Hermione, as well as Riddle and most of the class, rises her hand. "What about you, Miss Granger?"
"A Boggart is an amortal shape-shifting non-being that takes on the form of the viewer's worst fear. Because of their shape-shifting ability, no one knows what a Boggart looks like when it is alone, as it instantly changes into one's worst fears when one first sees it." Hermione said.
"Very good, 5 points to Ravenclaw."
"Professor, not saying that Miss Granger is wrong, but I think she forgot some important information" Darn Riddle.
"Go on" Darn Professor.
"When facing a Boggart, it is best to have someone else along, to try to confuse it, since facing more than one person st once would make it indecisive as to what form it must take, usually a mixed-up amalgam of the victims' fesrs." Riddle said, and of course the teacher gives him 10 points.
The Professor then turned to the whole class and said, "Now, please, open your textbooks to page 279"
Hermione reached for her textbook. As she flicked through the pages, her gaze involuntary wandered over to Riddle. He was looking back at her. A wave of hot fury hit her as he winks at her. Hermione's eyes snapped back to her book and she quickly turned the pages, almost ripping them.
Reading through the pages, realisation hits her. 'I've been trying to work as hard as I can, since I was 11 and found out about being a witch. And Riddle has always been better than her. All those years of trying her hardest, and it was never enough. So starting tomorrow, I give up. I will not answer the questions in class unless asked. I will not write 5 foot essay's, only the required amount. I will be a normal student. Don't get me wrong, I will still be Head Girl, and I will do my responsibles. But other than that, 'I don't care about grades anymore'.'
