Prologue
Life is hard. A single thought that is always evident in the mind of
someone who has experienced hardships. Life is unfair. Another thought that
often crosses their mind. The strong survive while the weak fall. Yet another
thought that some believe to be a universal law. Who they perceive as weak, or
strong, is only decided by each individual. Why? A simple thought many
people ask themselves at some point or another, for many various reasons. Such is
true in the case of one young man, Draco Malfoy.
As a child, Draco was brought in a cruel and heartless environment. To uphold
and honour the family name: Malfoy. Where the strong survive and the
weak fall to their doom. To be a Malfoy, is to be strong. Weaknesses of any sort are
simply non-existent in such a family. Weakness is not tolerated. Emotion is
forbidden. The family pride is to upheld at every moment, every second you breathe.
A simple slip could result in severe punishment. Questioning orders can result in
even more terrifying tortures than the Unforgivables.
So has he been brought up. To uphold the family name and honour. To pick
on those who are weaker. To show no mercy. To beg for nothing, not even your own
life should the situation call for it. Begging is for commoners. A Malfoy does not sink
to their level, nor does he associate with them either. Deatheaters are to be
respected. To keep good connections with said people for future needs. To marry a
pureblood witch, of high status, power, and wealth. His future was preordained with
no consent of his own. His Father holds his life between his fingers.
For the past years of his life, this is what he has known and been taught. His
has lived by these rules of life, what his Father set for him. But when something
happens, an event that could change his life, and those around him forever, how will
he react? What will happen next? Only time will tell as Being A Malfoy unfolds.
