Another little drabble thingy.

Why? Why does it always end up being this way? She fights with him like every other day. A routine that everyone if aware of, some that actually enjoys and a routine that she is secretly fond of. It's always about something stupid; like him sneering at her choice of underwear after he took a peek at it, or him calling her "Polka", or him making fun of her stupidity.
But no matter how nasty, or weird, their fight get, they can always find themselves under their tree. The tree where he opens up to her, even if it's just a crack, it makes her feel special. And then sometimes he does something shocking that will make her fall even more than she had fallen. Like the time he called her "Mikan" for the first time, or when he promised her that he will protect her always, or when he kissed her, in a tree on that fateful Christmas night. Or right now,
His sleeping face.
He looked so carefree, rid of all worries and burdens, but vulnerable. The real him that she has discovered. A boy who has been hurt many times and is afraid to feel any more pain. A boy needs a friend to go through everything with him, a protector. A boy that she wants to protect.
She knows that he will probably never feel the same way towards her, but that's ok. As long as she can be a pillar of support for him. Someone to lean on if he feels alone. She will gladly lock her feelings, as long as this innocence can remain on his face.
Because she knows that as soon as he wakes up, his cold demeanor will rush back, sealing the entrance into his heart. But the ones that were in there before it closed will stay there, protected. Yet they will know nothing about the pain he goes through.
His eyelids slowly opened, revealing alluring crimson eyes. They land on a girl who's lost in thought while starting at him, not noticing that he has awakened.
"Oi, Polka. How much longer are you going to be starting at me for?" he asked.
She blinked, snapping out of her trance, and smiled, "Don't call me Polka, idiot." She laughed as she playfully slapped his arm.
"I don't want to be called an idiot by you, the queen of idiocity." And with that he flashed one of his rare grins.
This is worth much more than my feelings, she thought, as a blush slowly crept up her cheeks. With that they continued their famous fighting.
Ehhh I dont like the ending, kinda awkward, like this word! Review anyways?
