AN: Just a short and fluffy one shot to show I'm still alive. Update for LiS coming soon. A big thank you to my sister Angel Kiss Hikari for typing this out for me.
His shirt
Gokudera had arrived early at school that day. Normally he'd walk with Yamamoto to pick up the tenth and they'd walk to school together. Today however he decided to go alone, for several reasons. None of which he wished to share with anyone. But if you must know, it was mainly because he couldn't face his precious tenth after what he'd done the previous day. And night.
Gokudera was still outside, enjoying a cigarette when the first students, besides him and Hibari, who seemed to live in the building, arrived. They looked happy enough, it was a group of girls and they were all giggling. Nothing strange about that. He thought he saw them looking at him right before they burst out in more giggles, but he was probably imagining things. He also dismissed the next group of girls reacting that way, but when more and more students walked by and they were all either giggling or laughing, Gokudera started to think something was wrong. His first thoughts were that they knew what happened the previous night. But that was nonsense. He'd checked in the mirror and there were no hickeys on him. Or at least not on places he felt comfortable showing to anyone besides the person who put them there.
"Good morning, Gokudera-kun." Tsuna greeted his friend happily before he also started giggling. Though, unlike the other students, at least Tsuna tried to hide it.
"Tenth!" Gokudera was happy to see his boss. "What's so funny?"
"Eh…" Tsuna was blushing. He didn't know what to tell his friend that wouldn't embarrass him.
"Tsuna, didn't you have to do something before school?" Yamamoto helped the brunette out.
"Yes!" Tsuna almost stormed inside the school building.
Gokudera tried to follow him, but his arm was caught by Yamamoto. "Let go, you baseball freak!"
"Follow me." Yamamoto didn't take any chances and pulled Gokudera along with him to a more secluded spot.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? Just because of what happened last night, doesn't mean you can boss me around!"
"I just pulled you away from those people because you forgot your shirt at my place this morning when you snuck out before I woke up."
That's when it hit Gokudera. He looked at the shirt he was wearing and realized why everyone was looking at him that way. He was wearing Yamamoto's baseball shirt!
Yamomoto saw the shocked look on Gokudera'a face. "Don't worry. They don't have to know the truth. I'll spread a rumor that it was just a bet. No one has to know you're my…" Yamamoto had some trouble with the word boyfriend. Not because he didn't want Gokudera to be his boyfriend, but because Gokudera didn't treat him as one. He had never expressed his feelings verbally, he'd just never complained about Yamamoto expressing his. "Whatever it is you are."
Gokudera was hurt by that remark, even though he knew the deserved it. He had never told Yamamoto what he felt for him. Not even after the previous night.
Yamamoto got the shirt he'd taken with him out of his bag. "Here, I brought your shirt."
Gokudera almost grabbed the shirt, but then he realized something. There was something he could do right now to show Yamamoto that he cared for him a lot, without having to say the 'L' word. "I'd rather keep this one on, if you don't mind, Takeshi."
Yamomoto lit up. This was as close to a love confession he'd get from Gokudera. "Really? God, Hayato, I love you!" Yamamoto couldn't stop himself from hugging his boyfriend.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Let's just go to class before we're too late." But he didn't get out of the embrace. He didn't even object when Yamamoto kept an arm around him all the way to the classroom.
