This is just a plotless short story written in the Fushigi Yuugi universe. Maybe I'll eventually make it into an *actual* story, but for now this is as good as it gets. Please review if you get a chance.

Three figures stood out on the endless barren wasteland dubbed 'ShiNoKyuuden' (Death's Palace). One figure huddled against the trunk of a crooked, leafless tree and desperately tried to shield her eyes fromt he blowing sand while, at the same time, trying to watch the other two.
The two stood facing each other, oblivious to the furious wind and sand blowing around them. One held tightly on to a staff; the other was unarmed, but had a faint red glow surrounding him. The wind whipped madly around their bodies but could not touch them; nothing would be allowed to interfere with what was about to happen.
The girl huddled closer to the tree as a large gust of wind brought sand raining down onto her.
One of the two men had dark blue-green hair and a red symbol could be seen on his forehead.
The other had light blue hair and eyes that misgave their owner's anger.
"It's unfortunate that we must do this," the one with the staff said and removed something from his face, which on later inspection is found to be a mask, revealing a fiery red-brown eye and an extraordinary scar.
The one with the blue-green hair and glowing symbol took a fighting stance.
"It must be done," he replied.
