This is an idea I had when watching the gravedigger episode. I always wondered if we'd ever get to see what Brennan wrote in that letter and to who, so this is just my interpretation of that.

Let me know what you think.

Dear Booth,

If you're reading this then I must be dead. The gravedigger won. I want you to know that it wasn't your fault. I know you will blame yourself, but don't. You did everything you possibly could and I know that. Hodgins says I have faith but that is an irrational explanation. The real reason is, I know you and I know the type of person you are. You will have done everything and more to try and find us. To find me.

Now I want you to know something too. We were always more than 'just partners'. I don't know what this is I feel for you, you would call it love, but anthropologically speaking love is an illogical emotion caused by the euphoria released in your body. Anyway, I needed to tell you this. I always thought we would have enough time, but I guess you shouldn't take for granted what you've got.

I want you to be happy. Promise me that, make sure you're happy and give Parker a big kiss from me.

Tell Angela that she was the best friend a girl could have.

Tell Zack he's going to become a brilliant anthropologist.

Tell Cam that although we've had our differences I still consider her a good boss and friend.

Finally, please tell Russ that I love him and that I couldn't have wished for a better big brother.

You were my family, all of you, and we were the centre. Look after my family for me Booth.

One last thing before I go. I know that I told you it was stupid to talk to a gravestone but I would really like you to come and talk to me sometimes. Even if it's impossible for me to hear you, at least I'll know you're still thinking about me.

Don't forget me Booth. Promise me you won't forget me.

Always yours

Temperance Brennan
